An introduction

Photography is coming up to its 200th birthday, it has a compact history, yet it is essential to modern living.  This exhibition draws on the collection of the gallery director gathered over the last 20 years to illustrate his view of the medium's history.

The culture has been moved by the photographers who resinated and moved the medium forward, Nan Goldin, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Nadar for starters.
